Who

Hello and Welcome to The Sunflower Rose my humble Abode.

I should really introduce myself before someone starts calling me Rose or Sunflower – my name is Hayley and I am twenty five. According to the media, films and books I should have my life all tied together in a neat little bow but my bow is somewhat frayed and I have to say… I’m okay with that! I live in good old Leeds which is in the North of England. I am a proud Yorkshire Lass!

I am a momma to a fur baby – yes I am a cat lady – he is called Mr Bojangles, Boo for short as when I first rescued him I did think he was a girl and named him
Boo after the girl in Monsters Inc, then after his accident three weeks after I took him in, the vet said she was a he! Not only did she become a he, he went from four legs to three. He is my little man (although he is HUGE)

I am nothing special, I didn’t go to university, I am a retired Beauty Therapist, I don’t have any great skills unless you count putting my leg over my head, which I discovered I could do at the age of eleven in a PE class (it was a football lesson and I was bored!) I love taking pictures although I know nothing about the technical terms and exposure etc I just point, shoot and hope for the best!

I do however love to craft. Granted I have to be in the mood to craft but when that mood strikes nothing can hold me back…wait I am talking about crafting still, right!? I also recently bought a planner and felt very grown up in doing so, although the one I bought came with rainbow stickers - but as a great boy once said "Never grow up" - ahhh Peter Pan. Yes I love Disney – I can’t help it, I was blessed to have been around in the 90's when The Lion King (greatest film EVER) and Toy Story first came out (now I feel old) there is something just so magical and comforting about Disney!

I love to explore, whether it's a new restaurant, a new city, or even a new distant land (the joys of a good book!) I have a bucket list which I am slowly ticking things off. I have a partner in crime his name is James and I don't want to sound mushy but he is my lobster (if you get the reference we can totally be friends!) He willing eats my cooking, I'm more of a baker. He says my singing is beautiful where as in reality it sounds like nails down a chalkboard  - I like to pretend I am on a West End/ Broadway show heck middle of Glee episode, I am often found singing in front of my mirror whilst doing my make up.

I have several long term chronic illnesses that over take my life, I often mask my pain with humor . I have dealt with them since the age of twelve and will have them forever (wow long term commitment right there) I find humor makes things less scary...if I wasn't laughing I would be crying and we all know what happened to Alice when she wouldn't stop crying in Wonderland!

I am a day dreamer, A list maker. Over thinker. I laugh at my own jokes.

But this is me, unedited, unapologetic.
